Lend Lease Corporation Limited announced that its subsidiary, Bovis Lend Lease Limited has been appointed Managing Contractor by the Department of Finance and Deregulation for the design and construction of a new central office building for the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation.
The value of the contract is $527 million and Bovis Lend Lease will be responsible for the design and construction of the largest component of the $606 million project.
The project comprises a new commercial office building and integrated tenancy fitout. This accommodation will provide for current and future activities and accommodation requirements and will enable the tenant to consolidate several of its functions into a single location.
The project will deliver functional area of approximately 40,000 square metres including office accommodation, corporate facilities and car parking.
The project is located in Parkes, ACT and is part of the Russell security precinct. It will occupy a prestigious, high-profile site, located within the National Triangle in the Parliament House Vista.
Bovis Lend Lease has been involved with the project since August 2007, acting as Managing Contractor for the planning phase.
Bovis Lend Lease will work in partnership with the client and the design team to deliver a sustainable development that will offer a high level of security and protection for organisational activities and the tenant’s employees.
Construction on the new central office building is expected to start in mid-2009 with the building scheduled for occupancy in late 2012.
