The Australian Constructors Association has called for the reimbursement of tender costs.
THE Australian Constructors Association (ACA) has called for the reimbursement of tender costs in the event that the Sydney Metro project is cancelled, deferred or its scope changed significantly. The President of the ACA, Wal King said that recent statements by the NSW Premier gave rise to serious concerns that the project may be terminated or significantly transformed.

"Whilst the NSW Government has stopped the acquisition of properties for the Metro in the Rozelle area, the construction industry is continuing to spend tens of thousands of dollars every day responding to the project," King said.

"The ACA Board met in Sydney on 11 February 2010 and resolved to write to the NSW Premier recording the industry's concern over recent Government statements concerning the future of the Sydney Metro, noting that the industry had responded to the invitation to tender in good faith.

"In the event that the Metro project does not proceed, the industry would expect the Government to establish a transparent process that allows for the full recovery of tender costs and expenses incurred by the private sector during the tender process," King added.
