"The PRI contract is for the design and construction of the twin tunnels for the CBD Metro between Central and Rozelle," Campbell said.

The contract will involve tunnels and linings, drainage and cross passages; excavation for stations and passenger entrances and temporary work required to enable construction.

Expressions of interest have been issued by organisations including Brookfield Multiplex Constructions, Veolia Transport, Leighton Contractors, John Holland, Laing O'Rourke Australia Construction and Bovis Lend Lease.
